SWF Player lets you view flash video content on your computer without having to connect to the internet. It is free to download and use the software. Simply open any SWF file in the player or double click an SWF file and open it with SWF File Player. It will read the meta tags of the file too.

Since a lot of modern computer devices don’t come with flash players anymore, this player is a great way to view classic flash content. A lot of web developers don’t create as much flash content for the internet anymore, but you might come across some websites that still use it.

If you have SWF files downloaded onto your computer, then you can view them with this player, whether you’re offline or online. SWF stands for Shockwave Flash, which was the classic way to provide interactive content to people.

Once you open an SWF file, the window will automatically resize to accommodate the size of the content. Remember that this program is freeware, so you will never have to pay anything.

To start the player quickly, go to the File menu and choose Open. Then find the SWF file that you wish to play. The message box should display metadata tag information pertaining to the file.

Once you select the “Play” button, you will see the flash content in the window. The F11 hotkey lets you switch between window mode and full-screen mode. It is so easy to manage.

Interface

SWF Player app has a plain looking interface, but it is probably supposed to be that way. The simplicity of the interface makes the file size of the player much smaller, which means it is more portable and easier to install on a computer.

Just don’t expect a lot of interesting features to be included with it. But if you want to play only SWF files and that’s all, then you’ve found the perfect player.

Compatibility Options

The player lets you enjoy your favorite flash games and videos. Its computer system requirements are not that strict for modern computers. You just need the .NET Framework, and Shockwave Flash Object installed on your computer. If you have a modern computer, then it should already be on it.

Six different kinds of metadata tags can be read by the player. These are the signature tags that provide information about the author. Other information it will provide includes the frame rate, file length, frame count, and version number.

Usability

SWF File Player is easy to start using the player. After it is downloaded for free onto your computer, go to the File menu and choose the Open option. Find the SWF file that you want to open.

The metadata tag information will be displayed in the message box. Click “Play” to see the flash content or to start playing the Flash game in the window. You can switch between window mode and full-screen mode by pressing the F11 key.
