Spacedesk (64-bit)

Spacedesk is an advanced extended desktop application that can turn modern PCs, Surface tablets, and Windows Phone smartphones into fully reactive and lag-free displays for Windows PC and Surface tablets.

Built from the ground up to take advantage of all the latest network display multi-monitor technologies, Spacedesk 64 bit supports all types of desktop extension use case scenarios (extension of desktop surface, or mirroring/cloning) with full interaction from client devices with touchscreen or keyboard & mouse reporting.

The entire procedure of getting Spacedesk up and running on your home network requires the presence of two machines, one server and one client (or as many as are present), with the server needing to install an official Spacedesk driver 64bit, while clients need to install and use Spacedesk app.

The LAN TCP/IP v4 network connection can be established via Ethernet, USB (tethered 1 to 1 connection), and wireless (with the latest Wi-Fi standards being recommended because of their higher bandwidth and reduced lag). Once the client machine detects the presence of the server PC, it can request desktop extension or desktop mirroring.

The server machine renders and transmits data over LAN, while the client just simply reproduces the live video feed, while also providing real-time accessory tracking for full control over the server desktop feed.

Secondary (client) machines cover all PCs that run modern versions of Windows OS (7, 8.1, 10 or 11), Android devices with OS version 4.1 and newer, iOS devices with OS version 9.3 or newer, and any other LAN-enabled device that can run modern HTML5 web browsers (Chrome v16+, Safari v5.1+, Internet Explorer v10+, and Opera v27+).

Even though the first beta version of this app was released in distant 2014, Spacedesk is still receiving regular updates and its feature list is expected to be drastically expanded over the following years.

Some of the planned updates that are scheduled to arrive during 2025 and later are supported for WiFi Direct standard, enhanced audio/sound streaming, user credential management, support for hardware-accelerated encoding, USB cable support, and implementation of unbreakable real-time encryption of all LAN traffic.

Spacedesk is 100% FREE and can be used on all modern versions of Windows OS (both server and client apps). Mobile client apps are also available for iOS and Android devices.

How to Use

• Install the Driver on your primary Windows PC.
• Install the Viewer app on your secondary device.
• Ensure both devices are connected to the same network.
• Open the Spacedesk Viewer app on your secondary device.
• Select your primary PC from the available connections list.
• Adjust display settings as needed in Windows Display Settings.
• Use the secondary device as an extended or mirrored display.
