itlets you perform keyboard reconfiguration functions. The interface of the tool is pretty straightforward to understand. It displays a virtual keyboard that is supposed to represent your keyboard. The keys are numbered, starting from 1 and ending at 126. Choose the key that you want to reconfigure and then remap it accordingly. Apply the modifications once you’re done.
Multimedia keyboards have special buttons that can be remapped too, such as Mute, Volume Up, Eject, and Play. You can also do the same for the buttons found in web browsers, such as Home, Back, Refresh, Stop, and Forward. The same goes for power management too, such as Power Off and Sleep.
The computer must be restarted before the changes will be noticed. The remapped keys in use can be seen at the top of the screen. The pending changes can be seen at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Other options you can activate include half teach mode, full teaching mode, a raw map view, remap file saving, restore default settings, and disabling a key.
KeyTweak doesn’t use that much memory or CPU resources. Plus, a complete user guide is available in the installation directory. Unfortunately, it cannot be accessed from the Help menu.
Errors pop up on screen only when you’re in “Full Teach Mode.” The program will close automatically. Overall, people of any experience level can find this tool quite useful.
